The Dragon's Enchantment page 24

“Luca, will you please make me a doll from a rock?” asked Princess Carlea.

“I remember you from the first day you entered the castle,” said Luca.

“My name is Carlea.  Father said we could ask you to make stuff so will you make me a doll?”

This was the first time one of the young royals had ever asked for anything. She blinked her big brown eyes up at the dragon pleadingly.

“She’s a brave little sprite,” the dragon thought but what he said was, “Sure why not.  Do you have a rock?”

“Right here,” She pulled a rock from a pocket out of the folds of her dress and lifted it with two both hands up to the dragons face looming above her.

Luca took the rock, aimed his amulet at the rock he commanded, “Become a doll.”

The rock became a beautiful baby doll in a white nightgown and cap.

“Oh thank you Luca!” said the little princess with joy.

Then she did something the dragon had never felt before. She gave the dragon a big hug. This caused the dragon’s heart to melt a little.

             “Thank you so much.”

“Is that what the King wanted from these little beings?” Luca thought, “It is a warm feeling.”
He looked up and watched as the smiling child skipped away, out the dining hall and up the stairs.

Princess Patrick happened to be coming out of his room and heading toward the stairs wondering, “What can I play?”

When he saw Princess Carlea skipping down the hall in front of him carrying her new doll,

“Where did you get that?”  Prince Patrick asked pointing at the toy in her hands.

“Luca made it for me,” She said stopping for a moment.

“Do you think he would make me something too?”

“Go ask and see but ya’ better get a rock,” she said then she continued on her way.
