The Dragon's Enchantment page 46

“Here he comes,” shouted Prince Adam.

All stood as the King approached. In his hand he was carrying a scepter of white gold made from the chain of the golden necklace. King Omni had placed the ruby Dragon Eye stone in the scepter. He had built the scepter with his own hands, just as he had formed his children with his own hands. The King walked down past the little dragons to the shore. There he bent down and dipped the scepter in the Golden Sea, the water’s new name. The sea and the scepter shone bright, and a rainbow filled the sky from the scepter across to the opposite seashore. The King smiled as he stood upright and looked at the dragons.

“Touch the scepter, my children, and bathe in the Golden Sea water, for the scepter has made it pure and healing,” King Omni said.

The dragons on shore rejoiced and started to form a line. The first dragon was Prince Adam. He touched the scepter and looked back at the King sheepishly.

“Go ahead,” said the King laughing.

Prince Adam slowly walked into the water, dipped down to his shoulder, and walked back out. He was a prince again. Princess Eva was close behind as always and did the same, coming out of the water as the princess she once had been.

Each dragon touched the scepter and swam in the Golden Sea, and as each dragon came out of the sea, they turned back into a royal child.

“What about the others, father?” Asked Prince Adam with conviction in his voice, “They ran far and wide. How will we get the rest of our royal family back?”

The King put his hand on Prince Adam’s shoulder but addressed all the young royals. He looked into each face as he said

“You must help me get our family back, my children. We shall search far and wide to bring our royal family back together. You shall bring them to me, and I will offer them the royal scepter and ask them to bathe in the sea. Some will take a long time to believe they can be changed. To make matters worse, the dragon has many generations of eggs hatching into baby dragons. These dragons have never been royal children. It will be much harder to get them to realize they are from our Kingdom and not from Luca’s. We must convince them and bring them home. Your studies will change. Not only will you study diplomacy, but you will also need to learn to make shields and armor to protect yourselves from the dragon and those who don’t understand who they are. From now on, we quest to unite our family.”
